Military Gear Labs wrapped up, and what a week it was. 🎯

IN THE NEWS!

Over the course of five days, 45 students from three international design programs immersed themselves in the world of protective gear, defense technology, and advanced textiles. From Brussels Expo to factory floors, from military briefings to material labs.

The week started at Bedex in Brussels, where students got their first taste of the defense and security world. From there, company visits took them deep into the Belgian textile industry:

KMS: military expertise, straight from the source

Sioen Industries: global leaders in protective apparel

Centexbel: where textile science meets innovation

Concordia Textiles: high-performance fabrics, up close

Utexbel: advanced technical textile manufacturing

Armed with all of that knowledge, students translated their insights into bold new concepts for protective gear and pitched them live today.

 This edition brought together:

🇧🇪 Howest - Ba. Industrieel Productontwerpen (Belgium) — hosting school partner

🇳🇱 IPO Windesheim Zwolle (the Netherlands)

🇵🇱 Product Design Academy, Fine Arts Warsaw (Poland)

A big thank you to all students for your enthousiasm and creativity 🎨 !!!

Military Gear Labs is an initiative by Fedustria, conceived by youth agency Trendwolves. WATF.news followed the journey every step of the way.

Because bridging young creative talent with industry isn't just a nice idea. It's how the future of protective textiles gets built.

A huge thank you to KMS, Janne Huys (University of Antwerp), Sioen Industries, Centexbel, Concordia Textiles and Utexbel for your time, your openness, and your genuine belief in the next generation.
