AIM3D

AIM3D develops printers based on its proprietary CEM technology (Composite Extrusion Modeling).

Printable materials:

ABS – PC ABS – TPE/TPU - high melting temperatures <400°C

Other materials need to be tested for suitability

Printable dimensions

• ExAM 255: 255 x 255 x 255 mm

  Their first serial machine, designed for small series and prototyping with their pellet-based approach.

• ExAM 510: 510 x 510 x 410 mm

  A larger successor with a bigger build volume, aimed at heavy-duty and industrial applications.

Key remarks:

• Up to 2 granulate exturders or 1 granulate extruder and 1 filament

• Nozzle >0.4 mm

• Removable print bodem plate 

• Heated printing bed

• Cartesion (XYZ axis) system

• Heated chamber <60°C - ExAM 510 heat chamber separate from extrusion system

• Software: SlicEx van Create it Real

• AIM3D also introduced its patented Voxelfill method: a software for slicing

  Which fills printed components with a "brick bond" structure to enhance strength and resistance to fractures.

  Especially addressing weaknesses in the Z-axis.

  A combination of 2 materials is possible, filling the voxels with to obtain an isotropic 3D model, reducing anisotropy.

  For printers with high flow e.g. with Bambulab, combination of injection and extrusion

  
  

  

• Their technology also extends to metal and ceramic 3D printing, where the polymer binder is removed (debinding) and the part is subsequently sintered.
